The Review

UV Knot Sense and UV Wader Repair are light cured flexible epoxies.  UV Knot Sense has many uses including sealing knots tied on slippery material or where knots may be exposed to abrasive elements, protecting delicate wing cases when tying flies, and can even function as an emergency rod building finish.  Both UV Wader Repair and Knot Sense come in a small plastic tube, which allows you to apply just the right amount for a given application.  Once the knot, or punctured waders have a thin coat of the epoxy on all you do is expose the epoxy to sunlight or use the UV mini-lamp to set the epoxy.

What is so amazing about this product is how fast it cures.  Using the UV mini-lamp the epoxy will be hard to the touch in 15 seconds.  Outdoors, depending on the amount of sunlight, it will dry in 10-20 seconds.  Loon Outdoors UV Wader Repair has become a permanent addition to my fly vest!  No more having to wait hours for a waterproof patch to dry to fix small punctures.  A few years ago I had a hook let go from a snag and bury itself in my waders.  After removing the hook it left a visible hole.  I stepped into the shade of a overhanging tree and applied a small amount of UV Wader Repair to the hole and then stepped into the sunlight again.  In the time it took to tie on a new tippet and fly the epoxy had set and the hole was sealed.  I wore the waders just the other day and the UV Wader Repair has not peeled away.
UV Knot Sense has so many uses I really don't know where to start.  I have used it to seal the ends of T14 sink tips, sealed fluorocarbon knots tied with near frost bitten fingers, reinforced fly patterns, and even played around with using it in rod building.

In Sum

Both UV Knot Sense and UV Wader Repair have far exceeded my expectations over the years that I have been using them.  They are quick, versatile, and easy to use.  There is not a day on the water when I do not have at least one tube of each.
