Knapek hooks, faceted tugsten beads, and flies
Knapek Hooks
Knapek Hooks have been in production since 1989 and are the good work of Jindrich Knápek of the Czech Republic. Knapek hooks are designed specifically for competition fly fishing. Given that international fly fishing rules exclude the use of barbed hooks, Knapek hooks come standard without barbs. In addition to hooks, Knapek also stocks an impressive array of fly tying supplies including facceted tungsten beads, hand tied Czech nymphs, unique dubbing blends, and a good deal more.
The review
All Knapek hooks are made from certified high carbon steel and are surface treated black. The point on these hooks is like none I have seen before. Each point is both mechanically and chemically sharpened, which gives the hooks a "sticky" extremely sharp point. Additionally, the tip section of the point is offset to one side. This small adjustment to the point allows for excellent holding power in the absence of a barb. Knapek hooks come in a number of configurations including: Dry, wet, nymph, terrestrial, midge, streamer, Czech nymph, jig, and lake hooks. All Knapek hooks feature the unique point and black finish.
In addition to high quality hooks, Knapek also carries an impressive selection of faceted tungsten bead heads. The multiple faces on faceted beads do a great job of catching and reflecting light given your fly an extra bit of flash in the water. The added weight of tungsten over lead or copper is a nice addition and part of what makes fishing in the Czech style so effective. By creating flies with a slim profile and then adding tungsten or lead Czech flies sink fast and present slow. All Knapek beads are counter-sunk to make threading them on the hook easy and they also come in a slotted configuration for those times when you want to use an over-sized bead. The heads come in size: 2.5mm, 3mm,3.3mm, 3.8mm,4.5mm. They are available in: gold, silver, copper, black, and fluo orange.
Knapek also carries fly set and individual flies. All of the flies are hand tied in the Czech Republic by a small number of contract tiers. The quality is unlike anything thing you will find online. The flies are ordered on a "as needed" basis so it may take a bit of time for a fly order to ship. The now famous "Czech Nymph" is available in a wide range of colors and sizes and each one is heavily weighted.
In Sum: Knapek hooks are the top choice for competitive anglers around the world. The unique point of Knapek hooks in conjunction with high carbon steel make these hooks one of a kind. They are made in small batches to ensure a high quality product. I have been using Knapek hooks for years now and I have yet to find a single hook that had "nick" or a slightly opened eye. In the States you can purchase Knapek hooks from The Blue Quill Angler or for the full lineup of Knapek products you can order direct from Knapek.
Disclosure- Knapek hooks provided the featured products free of charge for me to review. I was not compensated in any other way for this blog post.

Great review buddy! Now going through the rest you have :)
"I have been using Knapek hooks for years now and I have yet to find a single hook that had "nick" or a slightly opened eye."
If I had one gripe about the hooks it would be this, recent bought some & nearly all have open eyes, or the eye folded over....apart from that I'm a great fan.
